About our synagogueEDOS is a member of the Orthodox Union Jewish Congregations of America. |
Membership expectationsMembership is open to all Jews; Jewish status is determined according to Orthodox Jewish Law Active participation in EDOS' volunteer opportunities makes our community thrive. Whether your niche is giving or attending learning programs, planning or executing social programs, setting up or putting away kiddush, or volunteering for shul committees and support work, you're sure to find a place at EDOS. Although not required, regular attendance at the weekday Minyan by male members is strongly encouraged; members who are physically able should plan to attend a daily minyan at a minimum of once per week. Semiannual meetings of the membership are conducted each January and July to approve budgets, and carry out synagogue business including setting semi-annual dues. Members are also asked to participate in a one-time building fund pledge, payable over the course of 5 years. |
Membership typesThere are full-membership categories for singles and married couples, which include voting rights as well as family high holiday seating For those who have another, primary synagogue, an economical Friends category supports a non-voting status of support. Special arrangements are made for those who require some relief from the normal dues structure. Contact the Rabbi, President, or Membership Chair for discreet inquiries if required |
